Please note, unless otherwise specified, the rotations blocks are each 4 weeks.

Internship (PGY-1)

  • Inpatient Adult Family Medicine (3.5, 4-week blocks)
  • Obstetrics (two, 4 week-blocks)
  • Inpatient Pediatric Medicine; Newborn nursery (4-week block)
  • Family Medicine Clinic (longitudinal + 2, 2-week blocks)
  • Surgery (4-week block)
  • Musculoskeletal (2-week block)
  • Emergency Medicine (2-week block)
  • Homeless Outreach (2-week block)
  • Electives (4-week block)
  • Night Float (three, 2-week blocks)

PGY-2

  • Inpatient Adult Family Medicine (two, 4-week blocks)
  • Family Medicine Clinic (longitudinal + 3, 2-week blocks)
  • Electives (two, 4-week blocks)
  • Night Float (two, 2-week blocks)
  • Cardiology (4-week block)
  • Electives (4-week block)
  • Geriatric Medicine (longitudinal + 4-week block)
  • Inpatient Pediatric Medicine (4-week block)
  • Gynecology (4-week block)
  • Intensive Care Unit (2-week block)

PGY-3

  • Family Medicine Clinic (longitudinal + 3, 4-week blocks)
  • Inpatient Adult Family Medicine (two, 4-week blocks)
  • POCUS (2-week block)
  • AMBP -Ambulatory Pediatrics (4-week block)
  • Electives (three, 4-week blocks)
  • Procedure Clinic (4-week block)
  • Night Float (2-week block)
  • Musculoskeletal (2-week block)
  • Geriatric Medicine (longitudinal + 2-week block)
  • Homeless Outreach (2-week block)

Certifications

Our residents are required to hold several certifications, which our program will initially pay for with subsequent renewals up to the residents to maintain. This includes the following which is taught at SJGH: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics.
